The Savior of the World

“And I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32)

The top symbol, the descending dove, represents peace and purity and is a symbol of the Holy Spirit, the third person in the Trinity. In the story of Jesus’ baptism, we read that the Holy Spirit descended like a dove, coming down from God to man.

The dog is an emblem of faithfulness and constancy.

The sun and moon represent the Savior as present in all time and space; and also represents Mary, identified in Revelations 12:1 as the “woman clothed with the sun and moon under her feet”.

Given in memory of Rev and Mrs. Parker Holmes by their children
